Salary: ₹10, 000 – ₹15, 000+ per month (commensurate with qualification, experience, and skill set)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable XRF Technician to join our team across multiple BIS-recognized Hallmarking Centres. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting non-destructive purity testing of gold and precious metals using X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry. This position is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in the precious metals, assaying, and hallmarking industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation & Analysis:
  

  • Operate and maintain XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) spectrometers for non-destructive testing of gold, silver, and other precious metal articles.
    

  • Accurately measure metal purity, karat values, and elemental composition according to Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and standard operating procedures.
    

• Sample Handling & Inspection:
  

  • Receive, verify, weigh, and log incoming jewelry and metal samples from jewelers and clients.
    

  • Ensure sample surfaces are clean and properly aligned on the testing stage to avoid calibration discrepancies.
    

• Documentation & Data Recording:
  

  • Record and maintain precise test results, logs, and quality check records in the internal database.
    

  • Coordinate with the hallmarking/laser marking department to process cleared samples.
    

• Equipment Care & Safety:
  

  • Perform routine baseline calibrations and standard reference checks on the equipment.
    

  • Follow all laboratory safety guidelines, radiation protection protocols, and equipment handling measures.
    

• Quality & Integrity:
  

  • Maintain strict confidentiality, security, and integrity when handling high-value precious metals and customer information.
    

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Education:
  

  • Any Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (Graduates in Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering disciplines preferred, but open to any stream).
    

• Experience:
  

  • Prior experience operating XRF machines or working in a Gold Testing / Assaying / Hallmarking Centre is preferred.
    

  • Freshers with good technical aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are also strongly encouraged to apply.
    

• Required Skills:
  

  • Basic computer proficiency (data entry, MS Excel, system operations).
    

  • Strong observational skills and high attention to detail.
    

  • Integrity and honesty in handling expensive articles and accurate reporting.
    

  • Good regional language proficiency (Tamil); basic working English for software operations.
    

Working Hours & Shift Patterns

Candidates should be open to working in assigned rotational or fixed shifts:

• Morning Shift: 8: 30 AM – 8: 30 PM (Includes 1-Hour Lunch Break)
  

• Night Shift: 8: 30 PM – 8: 30 AM
  

• General Shift: 9: 30 AM – 9: 00 PM (Includes 1-Hour Lunch Break)
  

Compensation & Additional Perks

• Salary: ₹10, 000 to ₹15, 000+ (Incentives/hikes based on performance, attendance, and technical proficiency).
