About the Role
We are looking for a creative, marketing-minded Video Editor who can turn raw footage, scripts and ideas into engaging social and performance-led content. The role will work closely with the Brand & Marketing team across Reels, UGC, founder-led content, product videos, educational content, YouTube and paid advertising.
We are looking for someone who understands that editing is not only about making a video look good. It is about earning attention, maintaining retention, communicating clearly and supporting a business objective.

Key Responsibilities

Edit short-form content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Create UGC, VO-based, talking-head, founder-led, product and performance marketing videos.
Turn scripts and raw footage into clear, engaging visual stories.
Identify strong hooks, moments and cuts from raw footage and suggest stronger creative approaches.
Create multiple versions for hook, pacing, format and performance testing.
Repurpose long-form footage into multiple short-form assets.
Maintain consistent Baba Mastnath visual identity across content.
Work with marketing to understand whether a video is for awareness, education, engagement or conversion.
Stay current with social formats, editing trends and relevant AI-assisted workflows.

Skills Required

Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro - mandatory.
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
Basic Adobe Illustrator - plus.
Strong short-form and social-first editing skills.
Performance marketing / Meta ad creative editing.
UGC, product, talking-head and VO-based editing.
Motion graphics, text animation, kinetic typography and subtitles.
Sound design, audio cleanup, music selection and syncing.
Basic colour correction and colour grading.
Basic compositing, masking and B-roll integration.
Ability to adapt videos to 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and other platform formats.
Understanding of export, compression and platform specifications.
Familiarity with AI video/editing tools such as Runway, Kling, Veo, Firefly or Descript.

Creative & Marketing Skills

Strong understanding of hooks, attention and audience retention.
Strong storytelling, pacing and visual judgement.
Understands the difference between brand, social and performance editing.
Ability to edit for engagement as well as conversion.
Strong sense of typography, composition and visual hierarchy.
Understands consumer psychology and social-media behaviour.
Can translate a script into a visual story rather than simply placing footage against words.
Can recognise when a hook, cut, visual or sequence is not working and suggest an alternative.
Strong visual taste with the ability to maintain a premium, consistent brand language.

Preferred Experience

2-4 years of professional video editing experience preferred.
Experience with D2C, FMCG, wellness, Ayurveda, healthcare or beauty brands is a plus.
Experience creating Meta Ads / performance creatives.
Experience with UGC, creators and influencer content.
Experience with product shoots and product-focused content.
Experience working with fast-paced creative or marketing teams.
Portfolio Requirement
Portfolio/showreel is mandatory. Candidates should ideally share examples of Reels, UGC ads, performance creatives, talking-head/founder videos, product videos and motion graphics.

We are looking for a Video Editor who understands marketing, audience behaviour and content performance, not someone who only knows how to operate editing software.

Hiring Process
A practical editing test may be used to assess hook selection, pacing, storytelling, visual judgement, brand understanding and performance-oriented editing.
