About the job

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated U.S. Audit & Tax Professional to join our team and gain practical exposure to U.S. accounting, audit, and tax preparation. The professional will work with our accounting team on U.S. client engagements and assist with audit documentation, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, bookkeeping, and U.S. tax preparation. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who are interested in building a career in U.S. Audit, Accounting, or Taxation.

Key responsibilities:

A. U.S. Audit and Accounting
1. Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements for U.S. businesses.
2. Assist in preparing audit work papers and supporting documentation.
3. Help prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
4. Review financial records and assist with account reconciliations.
5. Assist in identifying and documenting discrepancies in financial records.
6. Support bookkeeping reviews and month-end/year-end closing activities.
7. Assist with preparing and adjusting journal entries.
8. Organize and maintain audit and accounting documentation.
9. Gain practical exposure to U.S. GAAP and U.S. GAAS.

B. U.S. Tax Preparation
1. Assist with the preparation and organization of U.S. individual and business tax returns.
2. Assist in gathering and reviewing financial and tax information required for tax preparation.
3. Gain exposure to U.S. tax forms, including Form 1040, Form 1120, Form 1120S, and Form 1065.
4. Assist with tax-related research under the guidance of senior team members.
5. Help organize supporting documentation for tax filings.
6. Assist with reviewing tax information for completeness and accuracy.
7. Gain exposure to IRS regulations and U.S. tax filing requirements.

C. General Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate and organized client records.
2. Assist senior team members with client assignments and deliverables.
3. Research accounting and tax-related topics as required.
4. Communicate professionally with team members and clients when required.
5. Work within deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
6. Maintain confidentiality of client financial and tax information.
7. Use accounting, tax, and productivity software as required.

Required:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputed university, such as https://jobeax.com/link/qWXnjFgQhSFTUarO, B.Sc. Mathematics, https://jobeax.com/link/ZrBIZ59t5D5W9yrg, or pursuing CA (Inter).

2. CPA Candidate, EA, or CA (India) preferred.

3. 1+ year of experience in Audit, Accounting, and Tax Preparation within a CA firm.

4. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and IRS tax regulations.

5. Experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and S-Corporation tax returns.

6. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

7. Ability to manage multiple engagements independently while meeting deadlines.

8. Comfortable working U.S. hours: Full-time, 9 PM–5 AM (next day) IST.

Preferred:

1. Basic knowledge of U.S. Accounting or Taxation.

2. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.

3. Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP or Financial Reporting.

4. Exposure to U.S. tax forms or tax preparation through coursework or projects.

5. Previous experience in Accounting, Audit, or Tax.

6. Relevant Accounting or Taxation certification or coursework.

7. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.

8. Familiarity with U.S. tax and audit software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax CS, Drake, Lacerte, or CaseWare.
