Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Performance Engineer with strong expertise in Performance Engineering, Capacity Planning, Scalability Assessment, Performance Architecture, and Technical Leadership across UI applications, APIs, MQ-based messaging systems, and Batch Processing workloads.

The ideal candidate will lead performance engineering initiatives, define enterprise-wide performance strategies, mentor performance teams, and drive performance governance across multiple programs. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in LoadRunner Enterprise (LRE), Apache JMeter, AutoSys, Capacity Engineering, Bottleneck Analysis, Infrastructure Sizing, and Performance Optimization .

The candidate will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Application Development Teams, Infrastructure Teams, Middleware Teams, Database Administrators, DevOps Teams, and Business Stakeholders to ensure scalable, resilient, and high-performing enterprise platforms.

Day to Day Job Duties

1. Define and drive enterprise-wide performance engineering strategies, standards, and best practices.
2. Lead performance testing and engineering activities across UI, API, MQ, Batch, and distributed application architectures.
3. Design performance test approaches, workload models, test scenarios, success criteria, and capacity strategies.
4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to performance engineers across multiple projects and programs.
5. Design, review, and govern performance test scripts developed using LoadRunner Enterprise (LRE) and Apache JMeter .
6. Lead load, stress, endurance, scalability, volume, and peak-load testing initiatives.
7. Oversee API and MQ performance testing for synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven systems.
8. Lead analysis of AutoSys-managed batch workloads and identify optimization opportunities across batch processing landscapes.
9. Drive root cause analysis for complex performance issues involving applications, middleware, databases, infrastructure, and networks.
10. Lead capacity planning exercises and establish infrastructure sizing recommendations based on current and projected workloads.
11. Review application architecture and identify scalability constraints, performance bottlenecks, and technical risks.
12. Correlate application performance metrics with monitoring, observability, and infrastructure utilization data.
13. Provide performance architecture recommendations for application modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
14. Establish performance baselines, SLAs, KPIs, and performance governance frameworks.
15. Review performance reports, executive summaries, capacity forecasts, and optimization recommendations.
16. Present performance findings and solution recommendations to leadership teams, architects, and senior stakeholders.
17. Support production readiness reviews, go-live assessments, release sign-offs, and post-production performance validations.
18. Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to improve system reliability and performance.
19. Participate in Agile planning, architecture reviews, solution discussions, and technical governance forums.

Basic Qualifications

1. 10–15+ years of experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
2. Strong expertise in LoadRunner Enterprise (LRE) and Apache JMeter .
3. Experience leading performance engineering teams and enterprise-scale performance programs.
4. Strong experience in UI, API, MQ, and Batch Performance Testing.
5. Expertise in capacity assessment, infrastructure sizing, performance architecture, and workload modeling.
6. Experience working with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
7. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, middleware technologies, and enterprise application architectures.
8. Experience presenting technical recommendations to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
9. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring skills.

Nice to Have

1. Experience in Banking, Payments, Financial Services, or High-Volume Transaction Processing Environments .
2. Strong knowledge of Java/JVM Performance Tuning.
3. Experience with SQL Optimization and Database Performance Engineering.
4. Experience with Linux/Unix administration, Shell Scripting, and Log Analysis.
5. Exposure to Cloud Performance Engineering across Azure, AWS, or GCP platforms.
6. Experience working with SRE, Observability, and Reliability Engineering practices.
7. Knowledge of Containerized and Kubernetes-based application performance testing.
8. Experience supporting Digital Transformation and Cloud Migration programs.
9. Ability to define enterprise performance governance and standards.
10. Strong executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
