This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Engineer, ERP Workday Extend Integration based in India. This is a senior technical role focused on designing, developing, and supporting sophisticated Workday integration solutions. You will work across HCM, Payroll, Financials, Talent, and related enterprise systems to deliver scalable and reliable integrations. The role combines deep expertise in Workday Studio, Extend, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, APIs, reporting, and automation. You will design custom applications and extensions while connecting Workday with payroll providers, benefits platforms, ATS systems, financial systems, and data warehouses. You will also play a key role in production reliability, security, performance optimization, and semi-annual release management. Working closely with functional and technical stakeholders, you will provide architectural guidance, mentor other engineers, and help drive high-quality delivery in an Agile environment. Accountabilities: - Design, develop, test, deploy, and support end-to-end Workday integrations across HCM, Payroll, Financials, Talent, and related enterprise applications. - Develop and maintain complex integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, SOAP, REST APIs, and RaaS. - Build and support inbound and outbound integrations with payroll providers, benefits carriers, ATS platforms, financial systems, data warehouses, middleware, and other third-party applications. - Design and develop custom Workday Extend applications, including custom business objects, custom fields, APIs, orchestrations, and UI/App Builder pages. - Extend native Workday business processes using Workday Orchestrate and Business Process Framework capabilities to implement custom business logic and automation. - Apply Workday AI and automation capabilities to improve business processes, integration workflows, and reporting solutions. - Develop complex data transformations and mappings using XSLT, XPath, Groovy, calculated fields, and Workday custom reporting capabilities.
- Configure and support PECI and other payroll and financial interface protocols as required. - Develop advanced Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, calculated fields, and RaaS endpoints for downstream data consumption. - Design and implement secure integration solutions using Integration System Users, security groups, domain and business process security policies, X. 509 certificates, OAuth 2. 0, and API access policies. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production integrations to maintain reliability, performance, and data integrity. - Conduct root cause analysis for integration incidents and implement sustainable corrective and preventive solutions. - Partner with functional teams across HCM, Payroll, Financials, Talent, and ATS to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. - Lead technical design sessions and create integration design documents, technical specifications, and implementation documentation. - Review peer solutions and provide technical guidance on architecture, coding standards, security, performance, and maintainability. - Support semi-annual Workday releases by assessing changes, identifying integration impacts, coordinating regression testing, and implementing remediation activities. - Manage integration monitoring, alerting, and log analysis to proactively identify and resolve production issues. - Package and promote Workday configurations, integrations, and Extend applications across multiple tenants. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of Workday solutions. - Mentor junior integration developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
