Position: Sr. Test Engineer – Mechanical 

Location: Cochin, Kerala

CTC: Up to 5 LPA

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a testing laboratory handling electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Test Engineer specializing in Soldering and Wire Termination to join our Cochin Validation Lab team. The role involves conducting product qualification and R&D validation tests in accordance with internal and international IEC/EIA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review customer specifications and product specifications.
* Assess test feasibility based on available laboratory capabilities.
* Verify and validate test setups and procedures.
* Conduct product qualification, mechanical, electrical, and environmental validation tests.
* Analyze soldering, wire termination, crimping, and ultrasonic welding.
* Prepare, validate, and report test results.
* Design fixtures required for product testing.
* Collaborate with customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams to understand requirements and interpret test outcomes.
* Maintain and calibrate vibration testing equipment.
* Perform failure analysis and ensure compliance with applicable testing standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
* Hands-on expertise in soldering processes and wire termination, including crimping and ultrasonic welding.
* Knowledge of IPC, IEC, EIA, and USCAR standards relevant to connector applications.
* Practical experience with test equipment, setup, product validation, and qualification protocols.
* Strong failure analysis and troubleshooting skills.
* Knowledge of UL, IEC, EIA, and other relevant industry standards.
* Good communication, coordination, and project management skills.
* IPC soldering certification is preferred.
