Senior Supplier Engineer responsible for managing electronics suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, and cost standards at Intuitive Surgical. The role involves supplier qualification, design for manufacturability guidance, process improvements, and new product introduction support for PCBA and related assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive PCBA manufacturing qualification at contract manufacturers including readiness and milestone reviews
  • Deliver qualification project deliverables including pFMEA, process validations, capability analysis, and inspection reports
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements to enhance quality, reliability, and cost
  • Manage supplier variances through root cause analysis and corrective action documentation and closure
  • Support new product introduction by developing supplier landscapes, ramp readiness plans, and DFM feedback

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience in electronics manufacturing engineering (PCBA, PCA, cable assemblies)
  • Proficiency with board assembly processes and equipment (SMT, reflow, AOI, AXI, selective solder, flying probe)
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 regulatory standards
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills with executive communication ability
  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience evaluating and challenging supplier technical, quality, and business capabilities
  • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Project, SAP or ERP systems
