Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Software Tester who finds problems before customers do. You enjoy deliberately testing software with unexpected inputs, repeated actions, slow network connections and unusual user journeys to uncover bugs before release.

You care about accuracy, especially when it comes to calculations and transactions, and communicate clearly whether a feature passes, fails or has not been tested.

You will work closely with an AI-native developer in a safe sandbox environment, validate fixes and report directly to the owner.

• Honest about status: You report every change as passed, failed or not tested. You never assume something works without evidence.

• AI-savvy: You use AI tools to generate test ideas, plan coverage and automate repetitive checks while reviewing the results for accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and execute test cases, exploratory tests and regression checks for web and mobile applications.

• Test edge cases, including invalid inputs, repeated clicks or taps, empty screens, slow or interrupted network connections and unexpected user behaviour.

• Validate calculations involving totals, taxes, discounts, billing and payments.

• Test applications across desktop, tablet and mobile devices, different screen sizes and relevant user roles.

• Report bugs with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, severity or priority, and screenshots or screen recordings.

• Retest fixes, identify regressions and provide written sign-off for every change.

• Use AI tools responsibly to improve test coverage and reduce repetitive manual effort.

• Identify usability and accessibility issues that could confuse or inconvenience users.

• Test exclusively in approved sandbox/test environments, never against live production systems without separate authorisation.

Required Skills and Experience

• 1–3 years of experience testing web or mobile applications.

• Strong manual testing skills, including test-case design, exploratory testing and regression testing.

• Ability to write clear, precise and actionable bug reports.

• Basic understanding of web applications, including pages, forms, logins, user roles and data validation.

• Experience testing across devices, browsers, screen sizes and user roles.

• Good written English and clear communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail, ownership and a user-focused mindset.

Good to Have

• Test automation experience with Playwright, Cypress or similar tools.

• Basic SQL skills to verify that displayed information matches stored data.

• Experience testing billing, payments, bookings, retail or transaction-heavy systems.

• Basic accessibility testing, including tap-target size, colour contrast and readable text.

• Proficiency in Hindi or Gujarati.

How You Will Work

• Work in a safe sandbox environment rather than on live systems.

• Collaborate closely with an AI-native developer to test new features and verify fixes.

• Report directly to the owner and provide written sign-off for every change.

• Communicate test status transparently, including untested areas and outstanding risks.

How Success Will Be Measured

• Problems are caught during testing rather than reported by customers or staff after release.

• Every change receives written test status and sign-off within one working day, subject to the availability of the change and test environment.

• Bug reports are reproducible, clear and actionable without repeated clarification.

• Testing covers critical user journeys, calculations, edge cases and regression risks.
