Platform Science is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Orion (Fleet Management System) department in Chennai. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our cloud-native full-stack development efforts, designing and deploying robust, high-performance software for high-velocity fleet solutions. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work with an innovative mindset to solve complex problems and ensure the successful delivery of projects that impact the global transportation industry.

API & Backend Architecture: Create efficient internal and external APIs and develop optimized database schemas for both RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (ElasticSearch) environments.

Cloud & Infrastructure: Deploy and manage applications on AWS, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

Quality Engineering: conduct thorough unit, integration, and performance testing (using frameworks like Jest or Enzyme) to ensure software reliability.

Collaborative Innovation: Partner with Product Managers and Architects to translate requirements into technical specifications while automating CI/CD pipelines alongside the DevOps team.

Experience

Required Experience

Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend build tools (e.g., Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud deployment methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of database management (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or ElasticSearch).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with React state management libraries (e.g., Experience with Agile tools like Jira or Rally.

Problem Solver: Exceptional debugging skills with the ability to navigate complex software systems and performance bottlenecks.

A proactive mindset and a willingness to explore and adopt emerging cloud and microservices technologies.

A commitment to writing clean code and following software engineering best practices.
