Stryker seeks an experienced Software Architect to lead the technical strategy and architecture for surgical planning and connected healthcare platforms. The role involves designing scalable, regulated medical device software spanning desktop, cloud, and distributed systems while mentoring engineering teams and establishing architectural standards across product lines.

Responsibilities

• Define technology roadmap and architecture vision for surgical planning and healthcare products
• Design and own scalable architecture across desktop, cloud, APIs, data, and distributed systems
• Establish reusable frameworks, components, and architecture standards across multiple products
• Lead modernization efforts from legacy systems to cloud-native, microservices, and containerized architectures
• Mentor architects and engineers while influencing senior stakeholders on architectural decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
• 12+ years software development experience with 5+ years in architecture or technical leadership
• Expert knowledge of C++, object-oriented design, and software architecture patterns
• Strong experience with Qt/QML, OpenGL, VTK, ITK, and desktop application technologies
• Hands-on experience designing cloud-native solutions on Azure and/or AWS
• Proven expertise in microservices, REST APIs, Kubernetes, and distributed systems
• Knowledge of medical device standards: IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971
