SmartCOMM Developer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SmartCOMM Developer to design, develop, migrate, maintain, and support Internet and intranet systems and applications using SmartCOMM. You will work on complex communications systems, ensuring seamless integration across multiple channels and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Internet and intranet systems and applications using SmartCOMM.
- Configure and deploy Smart Communications Appliance in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Create and manage SmartCOMM modules, including Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer, and Web Editor.
- Design and develop multichannel communications for print, web/HTML, email, archive, SMS, fax, and other channels.
- Generate interactive communications using Draft Editor, Data Capture, and iPDF tools.
- Migrate legacy communication systems from OpenText Exstream to SmartCOMM.
- Design static layouts for print and responsive layouts for web platforms.
- Prepare XML data schemas and map them to business data objects.
- Create and manage layout designs, style sets, and template selectors.
- Develop simple and scriptable batch configurations, template selectors, and output configurations for post-processing.
- Integrate SmartCOMM with upstream systems and third-party applications.
- Troubleshoot and validate templates, forms, and communication outputs.
- Use Thunderhead/Smart Communications APIs for system integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing systems.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, migrating, maintaining, and supporting Internet and intranet systems and applications using SmartCOMM.
- Proficiency with SmartCOMM modules: Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer, and Web Editor.
- Strong understanding of Smart Communications Appliance configuration and deployment models (cloud and hybrid).
- Expertise in generating interactive communications using Draft Editor, Data Capture, and iPDFs.
- Proven experience migrating legacy systems from OpenText Exstream to SmartCOMM.
- Expertise in layout design, style sets, and template selectors.
- Strong knowledge of Thunderhead/Smart Communications APIs.
- Proficiency in preparing XML data schemas and mapping them to business data objects.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing multichannel communications.
- Expertise in creating static layouts for print and responsive layouts for web.
- Technical knowledge of creating batch and output configurations for post-processing.
- Experience troubleshooting and validating templates and forms.
- Proven experience working in an Agile environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Expertise in Java/J2EE programming.
- Strong knowledge of JSON and web services.
- Experience with other Customer Communications Management (CCM) tools.
- Experience in system integration and API development.
- Knowledge of best practices in customer communications design.
