The Field Engineer provides technical lubrication and reliability support to industrial customers to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and optimize lubricant usage. The role works closely with customers, sales teams, and distributors to deliver technical solutions, conduct equipment assessments, and support business growth through value-added services.
Provide technical lubrication support and reliability solutions to industrial customers to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Conduct lubrication audits, machinery inspections, and site assessments to identify opportunities for optimization and reliability improvement.
Review and interpret oil analysis reports, identify potential equipment issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate lubrication-related equipment failures and support root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Deliver technical presentations, training programs, and lubrication best practice workshops for customers and channel partners.
Collaborate with Sales and Distributor teams to support customer retention, business growth, and new business opportunities.
Prepare technical service reports, document findings, and communicate recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer maintenance, reliability, operations, and engineering teams.
Ensure all field activities are conducted in compliance with company, customer, safety, health, and environmental requirements.
Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging lubrication technologies to enhance technical service effectiveness.
Manage assigned customer accounts and projects while ensuring timely execution of technical support commitments.
Understanding of rotating equipment, bearings, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic systems, and other critical industrial assets.
- Knowledge of preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance principles.
- Familiarity with oil condition monitoring and lubricant analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and operational data.
- Ability to conduct lubrication audits, equipment inspections, and reliability assessments.
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver customer training programs.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with maintenance, reliability, engineering, and operations teams.
- Strong planning, organization, and project execution capabilities.
- Oil analysis interpretation and condition monitoring techniques.
- Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Reliability and maintenance improvement principles.
- Microsoft Office applications and CRM/digital reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Production, or related technical discipline) with exposure to industrial equipment, maintenance, reliability, asset management, lubrication, rotating equipment, or industrial applications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience and up to 7 years of overall experience in industrial technical services, maintenance, reliability engineering, field engineering, application engineering, aftermarket support, or industrial sales support. Experience in industries such as lubricants, bearings, compressors, gearboxes, engines, pumps, industrial OEMs, maintenance services, condition monitoring, or other industrial equipment sectors will be preferred.
- Experience supporting industrial customers in sectors such as Steel, Cement, Power, Mining, Manufacturing, Automotive, Paper, or Chemicals.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to customer locations and industrial sites.
- Ability to work safely and adapt to various industrial working policy and procedures
