Job Description

The Opportunity:   

Visa's Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for building and operating secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms that power mission-critical applications across Visa. Our team develops reusable infrastructure products, Kubernetes platforms, automation frameworks, and cloud governance solutions that enable engineering teams to innovate safely at scale. 

Responsibilities:  

We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.  

The Work itself:   

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability  

• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings  

• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads  

• Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities  

Essential Functions:  

• Design, build and manage data ingestion pipelines using multiple technology technical stack including OpenSearch, Kafka, and Druid using open-source packages. 

• Design and Build Application in Dockers and Kubernetes 

• Develop and Build Python Based application for Automation and Task management. 

• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security throughout the data lifecycle end-to-end in open-source platform. 

• Build multiple data pipelines to ingest unstructured data in real time for advance data analytics. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. 

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications : -

• 3+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications : -

• 3-6 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. M.E/M.Tech, MCA)

• 3-6 years of experience in Python OR JAVA.

• 3-6 years of experience in REST APIs and working with JSON based integration.

• 3-6 years of experience in UI technologies like Angular JS and React.

• 3-6 years of experience in Ansible and other configuration management tools.

• 3-6 years of experience in Docker and Kubernetes (highly preferred).

• 3-6 years of experience in Cloud Applications (highly preferred).

• Experience with source control systems such as Git .

• Experience with infrastructure automation, platform engineering, or DevOps.

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent Communication and Collaboration skills.

• Experience with Cloud-based Data Engineering solutions is preferred.

• Experience with Container Kubernetes Technologies and knowledge in Hybrid cloud environment

• Experience in Ansible and other configuration management tools.

• Knowledge in Generative AI or Generative AI tools is preferred.

• Explored practical applications of AI and intelligent automation to improve engineering productivity and infrastructure operations.

• Participated in Agile planning, technical design discussions, demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing sessions

• Developed integrations between infrastructure platforms, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems

• Apply good software engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, version control, CI/CD, documentation, and observability.
