Senior Supplier Engineer in Chennai, भारत

Intuitive Surgical seeks a Senior Supplier Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between suppliers and internal teams for a medical device manufacturer. The role encompasses supplier qualification, new product introduction, quality management, and continuous improvement across global supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Assess, qualify, and develop suppliers to meet technical, quality, regulatory, and business standards
• Lead new product introduction activities including design for manufacturability and supplier readiness
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive corrective action using structured problem-solving
• Manage supplier qualification deliverables: process documentation, FMEA, control plans, FAI, and PPAP submissions
• Coordinate cross-functional projects with engineering, sourcing, quality, and operations teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, or new product introduction
• Proficiency with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and capability studies
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
• Experience conducting supplier audits and technical assessments
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 quality systems
• Structured problem-solving expertise (5 Whys, Fishbone, CAPA methodologies)
