GE HealthCare seeks a Senior Staff Software Architect to define and evolve the architecture of a Cardiology embedded platform serving multiple products. The role combines architectural ownership, platform governance, performance engineering, and technical leadership to build scalable, quality-focused design systems for next-generation medical devices.
Responsibilities
Define and evolve scalable embedded system architecture with governance and self-service patterns
Establish quality strategy across testing levels and create measurable performance baselines
Create architecture roadmaps aligned with product priorities and guide long-term platform evolution
Partner across leadership, product, UX, QA, and engineering to drive architecture decisions
Mentor senior engineers and technical leads on architectural concepts and design trade-offs
Requirements
15+ years embedded Linux platform and application development experience
Proven platform or large-scale design system architecture for multiple applications
Strong C++, object-oriented design, and software design pattern expertise
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics or Software Engineering discipline
Experience with technical design reviews, SDLC compliance, and regulatory quality frameworks
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and mentorship of senior engineers
Hands-on capability to develop platform components and troubleshoot technical issues
