Merck seeks a Senior Specialist in Development Mathematics for their Hyderabad Technology Centre. This role focuses on advancing pharmaceutical assay calculation platforms through statistical modeling, algorithm design, and software development while collaborating across business, data science, and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Select and implement statistical modeling and data transformation techniques for robust calculation platforms
• Document calculation algorithms thoroughly and troubleshoot issues with business subject matter experts
• Write maintainable code following software engineering best practices using version control systems
• Implement automated testing and monitoring to ensure system accuracy and reliability
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support system design and architecture decisions

Requirements

• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline
• 7+ years software development experience
• Strong R programming skills; Python beneficial
• Deep expertise in statistical modeling, regression analysis, and mathematical algorithm formulation
• Experience with pharmaceutical assay calculations (4PL, Logit-log, ELISA models)
• Proven experience with legacy code, scalable systems, and test-driven development
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS), SQL databases, and Agile methodologies
