Position: Python Software Engineer - Team Lead
Domain: Financial Technology / Algorithmic Trading
Required Skills
1. Strong hands-on experience in Python programming and Flask backend development.
2. Experience integrating Indian stock broker APIs such as Zerodha, MasterTrust, Symphony, Upstox, or similar platforms.
3. Experience with Binance REST and WebSocket APIs.
4. Strong understanding of real-time market data, order execution, positions, holdings, and trading workflows.
5. Strong experience with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and aggregation pipelines.
6. Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS EC2 and Linux servers.
7. Proficiency in numerical and statistical Python libraries, including Pandas, NumPy, Numba, and SciPy or similar tools.
8. Experience optimizing CPU-intensive applications and high-performance Python code.
9. Strong knowledge of multiprocessing, multithreading, asynchronous programming, and WebSockets.
10. Experience in REST API development, integration, debugging, and error handling.
11. Strong understanding of Git, version control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
12. Knowledge of software testing, production deployment, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
13. Understanding of secure API credential management, data integrity, and reliable trading system design.
14. Ability to lead and mentor a development team of approximately 3-4 engineers.
15. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Flask.
2. Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services for financial and algorithmic trading platforms.
3. Integrate and maintain Indian stock broker APIs and Binance APIs for market data and trading operations.
4. Develop automated order placement, modification, cancellation, execution tracking, and position management workflows.
5. Handle real-time market data ingestion, processing, distribution, and WebSocket communication.
6. Ensure accurate order, trade, holding, and position tracking, including handling partial fills, duplicate events, and connection failures.
7. Develop and optimize quantitative calculations and data-processing pipelines using Pandas, NumPy, Numba, and SciPy.
8. Identify performance bottlenecks and improve application speed, latency, throughput, and resource utilization.
9. Design, maintain, and optimize MongoDB databases for market data, trading records, configurations, and application logs.
10. Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS EC2 and Linux production servers.
11. Implement multiprocessing, multithreading, and asynchronous programming to improve system performance.
12. Debug technical issues across APIs, databases, market data feeds, order execution, and production environments.
13. Implement error handling, logging, monitoring, testing, recovery mechanisms, and safeguards against duplicate or unintended order execution.
14. Follow secure coding practices and protect API credentials, authentication tokens, and sensitive trading data.
15. Lead, guide, and mentor a team of 3-4 engineers; allocate tasks and monitor progress and delivery timelines.
16. Review code and enforce coding standards, software quality, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
17. Coordinate with management and other teams to understand requirements, plan development, and deliver projects on time.
18. Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, deployment instructions, and troubleshooting procedures.
19. Use Git for version control, collaborative development, code reviews, and release management.
20. Continuously improve system architecture, scalability, reliability, and production performance.
Expected Profile: A hands-on technical professional with expertise in Python development, trading API integration, performance optimization, production support, and team leadership.
