Purpose of the Role :
To design & develop the EDS and it's subsystems in line with defined Design Processes, Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap.
To define design Standards & Carryover Strategy of this sub module and drive it's engineering, aligned to the QCT of the projects. Also responsible for critical issue (escalated by ML & SMT Engineer) resolution and Deviation Approval.
Job Responsibility :
Key Contributions, Actions, and Problem-Solving Responsibilities :
- Contribute to product and technology planning through analysis of product roadmaps, regulatory requirements, benchmarking, and future technology trends. Define component and carryover strategies and plan advanced engineering and technology development projects.
- Support product planning by aligning component development plans with future business and technology needs. Plan engineering activities, anticipate risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure timely project delivery.
- Manage and optimize resources including budget, manpower, materials, infrastructure, and capability development through skill gap identification and training initiatives.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and recommend the most suitable engineering solutions to meet vehicle targets for performance, cost, quality, and timing (PCQT). Lead engineering, development, testing, and validation activities for sub-modules and guide teams to achieve project milestones.
- Drive benchmarking studies and incorporate insights into technical proposals. Develop design standards, DFMEAs, RFQs, DVPs, and ensure alignment with technical policies and technology roadmaps.
- Review critical engineering issues, support root cause analysis, and ensure effective resolution. Lead concept selection during project planning stages and address vehicle integration challenges.
- Continuously monitor resource utilization and adjust deployment based on project priorities. Promote innovation, process improvements, new technologies, and best practices to enhance design quality, productivity, cycle time, and overall engineering effectiveness while adapting to evolving customer, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements.
