Job Description

We are looking for a Senior GCP Data Engineer with strong experience in BigQuery and Tableau security. The candidate will be responsible for implementing data governance, privacy, access controls, masking, monitoring, and compliance solutions to protect sensitive business and personal information while enabling secure reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and classify personal and sensitive data across BigQuery tables and fields.
• Implement data masking, anonymization, and data protection policies for sensitive information such as PAN and GSTIN.
• Configure data access restrictions, data retention, and deletion policies in BigQuery, Tableau, and Excel/CSV exports.
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC) based on legal entities (JOPL/JODL), regions, and business units.
• Configure row-level security, column-level security, and dynamic data masking in BigQuery and Tableau.
• Ensure business users can access only approved reports and cannot access raw datasets.
• Implement secure data access for AI platforms such as Claude and GPT.
• Configure audit logging to track data access, modifications, downloads, and permission changes.
• Maintain secure and tamper-proof audit logs within India for a minimum of one year.
• Set up alerts for unusual activities, bulk downloads, unmasked personal data access, and unauthorized permission changes.
• Implement data encryption, key management, and periodic key rotation.
• Develop incident response procedures aligned with CERT-In and DPDP requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational runbooks, and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for internal teams.

Mandatory Skills

• 5–8 years of experience in GCP and BigQuery.
• Strong experience in BigQuery security, IAM, data governance, and data classification.
• Hands-on experience with data masking, policy tags, row-level security, and column-level security.
• Strong experience in Tableau security, permissions, user access, and row-level security.
• Knowledge of PII protection, data privacy, anonymization, and data retention policies.
• Experience with audit logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Knowledge of encryption, Cloud KMS, and key rotation.
• Experience implementing RBAC across multiple business units and legal entities.
• Understanding of secure AI/LLM data access and integrations with Claude or GPT.

Good to Have

• Google Cloud DLP / Sensitive Data Protection.
• Knowledge of DPDP Act and CERT-In guidelines.
• Experience with Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Security Command Center.
• Experience securing Excel/CSV data exports and AI-driven analytics.
