GE HealthCare seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and validate mechanical components and systems for medical devices. The role involves leading product development across the full lifecycle, applying advanced engineering principles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions that meet regulatory and performance standards.
Responsibilities
Lead planning, conceptualization, and development of mechanical components and systems for new products and field support
Create, review, and approve engineering drawings ensuring GD&T compliance and manufacturing best practices
Perform engineering calculations, develop test plans, and execute design verification and technical reviews
Drive product development lifecycle phases including concept, design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing introduction, and service support
Lead manufacturing process development for metal fabrication, castings, injection molding, and surface coating technologies
Requirements
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering plus Master's in Mechanical Design, Tool Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum 7 years hands-on mechanical design and product development experience across full product lifecycle
Expert-level proficiency in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and tolerance stack-up for complex assemblies
Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Cost optimization principles
Hands-on experience with sheet metal, plastic design, injection molding, casting, machining, and fabrication
Proven ability to lead component and subsystem design from concept through manufacturing release
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with suppliers, manufacturing, and global stakeholders
