Senior Data Scientist - Perturbation Biology & AI in Hyderabad, भारत

Amgen seeks a Senior Data Scientist to develop computational and AI/ML methods for perturbation biology and functional genomics within the ARIA organization. The role focuses on analyzing high-throughput screening data, building predictive models, and collaborating with experimental teams to accelerate therapeutic target discovery and validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced computational and AI/ML methods to identify therapeutic targets and elucidate mechanisms of action from perturbation data
• Provide analytical support for high-throughput single-cell perturbation and phenotypic screening experiments
• Build machine learning and generative AI models to simulate and predict cellular responses to genetic and non-genetic perturbations
• Identify analytical workflow gaps and develop robust, reproducible solutions to improve data interpretability
• Collaborate with experimental and translational teams to ensure computational predictions translate into testable hypotheses

Requirements

• 8–13 years of directly related experience in computational biology or data science
• Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, generative modeling, and transformer architectures
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar scientific programming languages
• Demonstrated experience with functional genomics, perturbation screens, or single-cell omics
• Experience with large-scale data processing, cloud computing, and software best practices
• Solid understanding of molecular biology and therapeutic discovery contexts
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
