Plant Maintenance (PM)

Configure and support SAP Plant Maintenance processes including maintenance orders, notifications, equipment master data, preventive maintenance, and testing.

Maintenance today is a gap rather than a system: activity is recorded in Excel and paper logs, preventive maintenance is limited to annual shutdown-based scheduling, calibration is performed periodically with records held outside the ERP, and there is no central system for equipment performance or downtime analysis. Core production equipment — presses and molding machines — is largely standalone. Your mandate is to build the PM foundation that makes accurate OEE, data-driven maintenance and auditable calibration possible: a governed technical object hierarchy covering machines, molds, tools and test equipment; work order processes the shop floor will actually use; and integration to PP-DS capacity, QM calibration and the machine-connectivity layer.

Batch Management and traceability experience is preferred but not required for this role — the PM scope is primarily asset-centric. Fluent professional English is required for design documentation, deliverables and steering-committee communication. Business-level Japanese is a strong advantage — many process owners, shop-floor personnel and legacy-system custodians work primarily in Japanese, and much current-state documentation exists only in Japanese — but it is not a condition of appointment. Interpretation support, bilingual design documentation and pairing with bilingual business analysts are provided, and strong candidates will be considered regardless of Japanese-language ability.

Full-time consulting assignment across the Explore, Realize and Deploy phases. Hybrid delivery with periodic on-site presence at the Japan sites during validation workshops, integration testing, cutover and hypercare. Reports to the workstream lead, working alongside client SMEs, client IT and the corporate global SAP template and clean-core governance teams.
