Quality Engineer - VPI in Chennai, भारत

The primary focus of the position is to lead the efforts required to assure that the quality of product delivered to customers meets or exceeds expectations. This is accomplished through both administrative and inspection activities in accordance with company policies, procedures and applicable codes. While the primary focus of this position is to support project quality control activities, the Quality Control Engineer will engage in quality assurance activities to support the company’s quality program as directed by his manager. He must also have a solid understanding of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code construction and National Board Inspection Code repair work

Requirements

Experience:

• 5+ yrs. Experience in the field of system quality management and product quality in the Power/ hydrocarbon Industry.
• Problem-solving skills are required.
• Must have strong organizational and people skills.
• Knowledge of general steel fabrication practices and processes including ASME or other code pressure vessel manufacturing and Inspection experience.
• Extensive experience in ASME code construction.
• Knowledge and experience with implementation of NDE processes, VT RT, UT, MT, PT
• Experience in Root Cause methodologies and Corrective Action tools and processes.
• Experience in ISO 9001 and qualified ISO Lead auditor preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in reviewing and writing procedures.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent working experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to communicate within the organization and with worldwide suppliers.
• Be well-organized, result oriented, and competent with high integrity and work ethic with time management skills to adapt to unexpected changes, customer emergencies, field support and priority changes.
• Must have valid Passport for International Travel.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other packaged software.
