Programmer Analyst II performs bioinformatics programming and statistical analysis for clinical research projects at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The role involves developing SAS programs, preparing clinical datasets, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on data management and validation activities.
Responsibilities
Create, execute, maintain, and validate SAS programs for data transfer, integration, and reporting across systems
Prepare and analyze clinical trial datasets including laboratory data, vital signs, tumor response, and adverse events
Consult with researchers and project teams to recommend technology-based solutions and computational strategies
Develop customized code utilizing existing tools and validate outputs for clinical bioinformatics use
Contribute to departmental documentation, training materials, and adherence to standard operating procedures
Requirements
Master's degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or related field
Alternatively, Bachelor's degree in related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in one or more programming languages with solid understanding
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in English with satisfactory written and verbal communication skills
Solid understanding of relational database structure and complex data systems
Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively with challenging timelines
