Role Summary:

The OutSystems Developer is responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting application features using the OutSystems platform. The role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions while adhering to approved technical designs, engineering standards, and project requirements.

The Developer collaborates closely with Senior Developers, Tech Leads, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade applications and continuously improve technical capabilities.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities Application Development:

• Develop, configure, test, and maintain OutSystems applications based on approved requirements and technical designs.
• Build screens, workflows, business logic, reusable components, and application integrations.
• Develop Reactive Web Applications using OutSystems.
• Follow coding standards, naming conventions, and architecture guidelines.
• Implement validation rules, exception handling, and security controls.
• Deliver assigned work within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Integrations & Data Management

• Develop and support integrations using REST APIs and SOAP services.
• Work with SQL databases and relational data models.
• Implement data transformation, validation, and persistence logic.
• Validate integration behavior and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Support data quality and application reliability initiatives.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Perform testing prior to code review and deployment.
• Participate in integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
• Investigate and resolve application defects.
• Follow secure software development practices.
• Support continuous improvement of code quality and application performance.

Maintenance & Production Support

• Support production applications and investigate reported issues.
• Participate in incident troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing activities.
• Follow deployment procedures and environment-management standards.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, planning sessions, and estimation activities.
• Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, QA engineers, and stakeholders.
• Communicate risks, blockers, dependencies, and progress updates effectively.
• Contribute to technical discussions and continuous learning initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of OutSystems development experience.
• Hands-on experience with OutSystems ODC or OutSystems 11.
• Experience developing Reactive Web Applications.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating enterprise applications.
• Understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and deployment practices.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Preferred Skills:

• OutSystems Professional Developer Certification.
• Experience with both OutSystems 11 and ODC platforms.
• CI/CD and DevOps exposure.
• Production support and troubleshooting experience.
• Understanding of secure application development practices.
