About the job

Key Responsibilities:

1. Incident, problem, service request management, change management, configuration management and capacity management of WAF setup.
2. Assist in day to day BAU MACDs and configuration changes.
3. Proactively utilize existing tools to isolate events before service degradation occurs.
4. Support incident monitoring and incident analysis/response initiatives.
5. Coordinate with users to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution for trouble tickets.
6. Troubleshoot layers 1, 2, and 3 of the OSI model.
7. Troubleshoot network, transport, session, presentation and application layers.
8. Apply security patches with understanding of change control and rollback.
9. Conduct daily performance checks on devices, periodic audits, and compliance.
10. Perform immediate troubleshooting for network outages as reported by users, sensors, and operational personnel.
11. Implement and maintain network security policy, standards, and procedures.
12. Deploy and maintain access and security policies for WAF solutions.
13. Maintain service levels and oversight of day-to-day configuration, administration and monitoring of network security infrastructure in a 24/7 NOC.
14. Coordinate with OEMs for TAC support, RMA, replacement, and reconfiguration of WAF.
15. Device configuration backup as per the agreed schedule.
16. Maintain service levels for all incidents received in the respective queue.

Other requirements

1. Strong WAF/Network Security profile with hands-on WAF solution management.

2. Experience: 2+ years in Network Security, including 2+ years managing WAF solutions with strong product knowledge.

3. WAF Operations: Experience in incident, problem, service request, change, configuration & capacity management; BAU MACDs, configuration changes and SLA management.

4. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Experience using monitoring tools to identify issues before service degradation, incident response, ticket resolution and immediate outage troubleshooting.

5. Technical: Proficiency in WAF management across Windows, Linux & Unix, with knowledge of policies, exceptions and scripting.

6. Troubleshooting Tools: Hands-on experience with packet capture, analysis and troubleshooting across OSI Layers 1–3.

7. Security Operations: Experience with security patching, change-control/rollback, security policies/standards, WAF access & security policies, performance checks, audits/compliance, OEM/TAC/RMA coordination and configuration backups.

8. Domain: Banking experience preferred; candidates from other industries with matching technical expertise are acceptable.

9. Shift: Comfortable working in a 24/7 NOC rotational shift at IDFC Bank, Airoli, Navi Mumbai.

10. Communication: Excellent verbal & written communication skills with flexibility to learn and adapt.

11. Certification: F5 WAF Certified Professional – Mandatory.
