About the job

Key responsibilities:
1. Humanoid Robot Design:Redesign and improve existing humanoid robot structures, frames, joint housings, and actuator mounts for high reliability.
2. Dexterous Gripper Development:Design and develop UMI and DexUMI grippers, finger assemblies, and precision manipulation mechanisms.
3. Mechanical Component Design:Improve robot joints for higher torque density, better sealing, and rugged operation.
4. CAD Design and Modeling:Create 3D models and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAD software.
5. Structural Analysis and Testing:Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), impact analysis, and fatigue testing on load-bearing components.
6. Material Selection and Manufacturing:Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, and injection molding.
7. Prototype Development:Build, test, and improve mechanical prototypes for humanoid robots and robotic hand systems.
8. Fixture and Tooling Design:Design fixtures, jigs, and production tooling for manufacturing operations.
9. Tolerance and GD&T Management:Define dimensional tolerances, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and mechanical interface specificati
ons.
10. Enclosure and Mount Design:Design protective enclosures and mounting systems for robot capture hardware and wearable sensor arrays.
