About the job

Openhouse is looking for enthusiastic teachers to conduct 1:1 maths classes for children at their homes in and around Sarjapur, Bangalore. The classes focus on building strong number sense, problem-solving and logical thinking through activity-based learning, games and hands-on materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct engaging 1:1 maths classes at students' homes using the Openhouse curriculum.
2. Guide children through hands-on activities, puzzles, games and practice that build understanding of maths concepts.
3. Explain concepts in a simple and engaging manner based on the child's age and learning level.
4. Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the Openhouse team.
5. Conduct trial classes for interested families when required.

Time commitment:

1. Any 5 days a week, approximately 20 hours per week.
2. Weekdays: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
3. Weekends: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Note:

1. Location: Currently hiring for Sarjapur and nearby areas.
2. Classes will be conducted at students' homes.
3. Students will be assigned within nearby areas wherever possible to minimise travel.
4. Candidates should be comfortable travelling locally.

If you get shortlisted, you will participate in our training program for technical and soft skills. The training period should ideally be 15 days; normal salary will be paid, and no fees are required from the candidate.

1. Individuals passionate about making maths fun and easy for children.

2. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mathematics, Science, Engineering or Education.

3. Willingness to work with children aged 5-12.

4. Strong command of school-level maths concepts.

5. Prior experience teaching or tutoring maths to children is preferred.

6. Reliable, punctual and comfortable interacting with parents.
