Roles and Responsibilities
Design Review & Validation: Review mechanical designs, drawings, and schematics to ensure manufacturability and compliance with industry standards
Risk Management: Lead and participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential design risks and define mitigation strategies
Testing & Evaluation reports confirmation: Review test plans and reports during validation of mechanical prototypes through various stages till SOP
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate mechanical failures, defects, or customer complaints, and establish corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in consultation with COEs related to design issues
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to integrate Design Quality into the product lifecycle early stage
Quality Methodologies: Deep understanding of quality frameworks like Six Sigma , Lean Manufacturing , and ISO standards
Required Skills
Proficiency in CAD Software (e.g., Unigraphics, CATIA, AutoCAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
Expertise with GD&T ( Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ) and metrology
Strong data analysis skills various tools
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g., Teamcenter)
Good presentation skill using tools like PPT, XLS and Power BI
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as QMS Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
