Job Title: IT Infrastructure System Engineer - Linux

Shift Timings: 12PM - 9PM

OVERALL OBJECTIVES: As part of the IT Infrastructure Support Team for Eurofins Food, Feed & Agro Testing Europe, you will join an international team responsible for designing, deploying and operating enterprise Linux platforms across on-premises and Azure environments.

The role focuses on Linux systems engineering, automation, virtualization, storage, backup and cloud infrastructure. You will support daily operational activities, troubleshoot complex technical issues, implement infrastructure improvements and deliver strategic transformation projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux administration and automation skills, combined with hands-on experience in Azure, Hyper-V, enterprise storage and backup solutions.

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in Eurofins' ongoing infrastructure modernization initiatives across Europe.

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS:

Support and maintain enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
Design, implement and improve infrastructure solutions to meet business and operational requirements.
Participate in infrastructure transformation, migration and standardization initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable and scalable IT services.
Ensure proper documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of infrastructure services.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

An ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Linux Systems Engineering and Enterprise Infrastructure Operations:

Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
Strong experience with Linux system administration including package management, systemd, kernel tuning, performance optimization and troubleshooting.
Experience with Linux security hardening, SELinux, AppArmor, PAM, SSH, auditd and CIS benchmark implementation.
Advanced troubleshooting skills using system logs, journald, rsyslog, tcpdump, strace, lsof, netstat/ss and performance analysis tools.
Strong understanding of Linux networking concepts, including routing, DNS, firewalling, VLANs and TCP/IP.
Experience with Bash & Powershell scripting and automation of operational tasks.
Experience managing and supporting large-scale production Linux environments.
Strong understanding of Linux filesystem and storage concepts including LVM, multipathing, NFS and SMB.
Experience performing OS upgrades, patching, lifecycle management and system recovery activities.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex operating system, performance and infrastructure-related issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multinational environment.

Below skills will be an advantage:

Experience with Microsoft Azure administration, including Azure CLI, Azure Automation, Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage Accounts, Private Endpoints, Key Vault and Desired State Configuration (DSC).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform & familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including troubleshooting and maintenance.
Experience with Docker container technologies.
Experience with Hyper-V administration and virtual server deployment and management in Azure and Hyper-V environments.
Experience with physical server infrastructure design, deployment and maintenance.
Experience with Windows Server roles including IIS, File and Storage Services, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services, Network Policy and Access Services, Volume Activation Services and Print and Document Services.
Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, including repository deployment, proxy deployment, agent-based backups, application-aware backups and on-premises backup solutions.
Experience with monitoring and observability solutions including Grafana, Prometheus & Site24x7.
Experience with PostgreSQL / MSSQL administration.
