Injection Moulding Supervisor - Rubber Industry - 12 Hrs Duty in Nashik, भारत

1. Job Purpose

To supervise day-to-day rubber injection moulding operations, ensure production targets are achieved, maintain product quality, minimize rejection and machine downtime, and ensure compliance with safety and production standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Management

Supervise daily rubber injection moulding production activities as per the production plan.

Ensure achievement of daily production targets, machine utilization, and timely delivery.

Monitor machine cycle time, moulding parameters, and production output.

Coordinate with the Production Manager for production planning and manpower allocation.

Ensure proper handling and availability of raw materials, rubber compounds, inserts, and moulds.

B. Process Control

Monitor and control moulding parameters such as temperature, pressure, injection time, curing time, and cycle time as per approved process specifications.

Ensure correct mould setting, machine setting, and start-up approval.

Identify process abnormalities and take corrective action to minimize defects.

Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine breakdowns and mould-related issues.

Ensure proper mould cleaning, preventive maintenance coordination, and changeover activities.

C. Quality Control

Ensure products meet approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Monitor common defects such as flash, short moulding, porosity, air bubbles, under-curing, over-curing, and dimensional variations, as applicable.

Ensure first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks are carried out.

Coordinate with the Quality Department to resolve rejection, rework, and customer complaints.

Maintain production and rejection records and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap.

D. Manpower Management

Allocate work to machine operators and helpers according to production requirements.

Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and work performance.

Train operators in machine operation, process parameters, quality requirements, and safe working practices.

Ensure shift handover and effective communication between shifts.

E. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain daily production reports, machine-wise output, rejection reports, downtime records, and production parameters.

Record raw material consumption, scrap, rework, and process deviations.

Update production-related documents as required by the Quality Management System.

Support internal audits, customer audits, and ISO/IATF documentation requirements, wherever applicable.

F. Safety and 5S

Ensure operators follow machine safety procedures and use the required PPE.

Maintain workplace cleanliness, 5S, and proper material storage.

Ensure safety guards and emergency stop arrangements are functional.

Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and near misses to the concerned authority.

3. Required Skills and Competencies

Practical knowledge of rubber injection moulding processes and machines.

Understanding of rubber compounds, curing cycles, moulds, and process parameters.

Ability to identify moulding defects and troubleshoot process problems.

Manpower handling and shift supervision skills.

Knowledge of production planning, rejection control, and productivity improvement.

Basic computer knowledge and production reporting skills.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements will be an added advantage.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Achievement of daily and monthly production targets.

Reduction in rejection, scrap, and rework.

Improvement in machine utilization and cycle time.

Reduction in machine downtime.

Adherence to product quality standards.

Effective manpower utilization.

5. Working Conditions

The position requires working on the shop floor in a manufacturing environment and may involve rotational shifts, depending on production requirements.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in rubber injection moulding operations, practical knowledge of machine and mould settings, the ability to manage operators, and a strong focus on production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety
