AstraZeneca seeks a Global Development Scientist to lead late-stage clinical trial design, execution, and analysis in respiratory and immunology programs, with responsibility for integrating AI-assisted methods into development workflows while maintaining scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Design, execute, and provide scientific interpretation for pivotal clinical trials in respiratory therapeutic area
Lead development of quality metrics, data review plans, and comprehensive safety evaluations for Phase II/III studies
Identify clinical development opportunities where AI can add value and lead pilot implementation and adoption
Provide expert scientific input on regulatory documents and collaborate with regulatory authorities
Present scientific and AI-enabled insights to multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders
Requirements
10–15 years of clinical development experience in pharmaceutical or biotech
Expertise in late-stage (Phase II/III) clinical trial design and execution
Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements
Scientific competency in safety evaluation and data analysis methodologies
Experience collaborating across regulatory, operations, and medical functions
Familiarity with AI applications or emerging computational methods in clinical research
