AstraZeneca seeks a Global Development Scientist to lead late-stage clinical trial design, execution, and analysis in respiratory and immunology programs, with responsibility for integrating AI-assisted methods into development workflows while maintaining scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and provide scientific interpretation for pivotal clinical trials in respiratory therapeutic area
• Lead development of quality metrics, data review plans, and comprehensive safety evaluations for Phase II/III studies
• Identify clinical development opportunities where AI can add value and lead pilot implementation and adoption
• Provide expert scientific input on regulatory documents and collaborate with regulatory authorities
• Present scientific and AI-enabled insights to multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders

Requirements

• 10–15 years of clinical development experience in pharmaceutical or biotech
• Expertise in late-stage (Phase II/III) clinical trial design and execution
• Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements
• Scientific competency in safety evaluation and data analysis methodologies
• Experience collaborating across regulatory, operations, and medical functions
• Familiarity with AI applications or emerging computational methods in clinical research
