We are seeking dynamic, creative and resourceful candidates to work for ExxonMobil's Bengaluru, India location on challenging reservoir characterization & modelling projects in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, petro physicists and reservoir engineers. Candidate will conduct applied reservoir modelling work to support field development planning, mature field opportunity generation, carbon capture & storage, regulatory requirements and strategic projects.
In consultation with ExxonMobil's Reservoir Modelling group in Houston, define project objectives, work scopes and deliverables.
Contribute to existing model updates, developing/maintaining workflows, volumetric and calibration to dynamic data.
Support business units that require models to screen opportunities, run scenarios and quantify uncertainty.
Support business units to manage country-specific regulatory requirements that have a significant modelling component.
Work with computational scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to test, deliver and support various modelling software tools, models and algorithms.
Master's degree in Earth Science, Physical Science, Applied Mathematics or Engineering with a minimum GPA score of 7.0 & above.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on industrial experience in integrated reservoir modelling in support of upstream oil and gas operations.
Strong background in one or more geoscience skills (production/development geology, geophysics, stratigraphy).
Proficiency with English and strong communication skills.
Expert level Petrel user, experience with Petrel workflows and plugins.
Knowledge of reservoir simulation/Eclipse or other modelling software would be an added advantage.

The Development & Production Geoscientist Advanced integrates multi-discipline subsurface data, evaluates reservoir connectivity, and develops geologic models that inform field development and optimization plans. This role applies multi-basin experience, interprets complex geological and geophysical datasets, and improves workflows for uncertainty analysis, risk assessment, and reservoir characterizations. Many skills map to this job role (Geologic Modeling, Field Evaluation, Field Optimization & Abandonment, etc.). It is not the expectation to build deep knowledge and specialization across them all, but rather a select few, enhanced with knowledge across a broad spectrum of fundamental and foundational geoscience skills.
Integrate and interpret geological, geophysical, and engineering data to map reservoir architecture, connectivity, and heterogeneity.
