Role & Responsibilities
- Perform general surgical procedures including hernia repairs, appendectomies, and trauma interventions with precision and efficiency.
- Deliver comprehensive gynaecological care—conducting routine screenings, managing high-risk pregnancies, and performing obstetric and gynaecological surgeries.
- Lead pre- and post-operative care, ensuring patient education, informed consent, and recovery planning.
- Collaborate with anaesthetists, nurses, and allied health staff to coordinate seamless surgical workflows and emergency responses.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, comply with hospital protocols, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior doctors and interns, promoting a culture of continuous learning and patient-centric care.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (General Surgery)
- DNB/DGO or equivalent in Gynaecology & Obstetrics
- Current NMC registration
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in surgical and gynaecological practice
- Proficiency in laparoscopic and open surgical techniques
- Experience in managing obstetric emergencies and high-risk deliveries
- Preferred
- Experience in rural or semi-urban healthcare settings
- Membership in surgical or gynaecological associations (e.g., AIIMS, FOGSI)
- Ability to lead clinical audits or protocol development
