Job Description: NetSuite / Odoo Functional Consultant – Fresher

Role Overview   

As a NetSuite / Odoo Functional Consultant – Fresher , you will work with experienced consultants and project teams to understand business processes, gather requirements, configure ERP applications, perform testing and support implementation activities.

This role is suitable for candidates who have a foundation in business processes, accounting, finance, supply chain or information technology and are eager to learn ERP systems.

Candidates with academic projects, internships or basic exposure to NetSuite or Odoo will have an advantage.

Key Responsibilities   

1. ERP Learning & Functional Understanding   

• Develop a working understanding of NetSuite and Odoo ERP applications.
  

• Learn core business processes across finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and operations.
  

• Understand how ERP systems support business transactions and reporting.
  

• Participate in internal training, knowledge-sharing sessions and product demonstrations.
  

• Learn standard ERP features, configuration options and implementation methodologies.
  

2. Requirement Gathering & Documentation   

• Assist senior consultants in customer meetings and requirement-gathering sessions.
  

• Understand customer business processes, challenges and expectations.
  

• Document requirements, meeting notes, process flows and action items.
  

• Assist in preparing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) and user stories.
  

• Convert approved requirements into clear functional tasks with guidance from senior consultants.
  

• Seek clarification when requirements are unclear or incomplete.
  

3. ERP Configuration & Implementation Support   

• Assist with basic ERP configuration and setup activities.
  

• Support creation and maintenance of master data, forms, fields, roles and permissions.
  

• Assist with configuration of business processes and workflows under supervision.
  

• Support data preparation, migration, validation and reconciliation.
  

• Follow implementation standards, templates and project procedures.
  

• Maintain configuration records and project documentation.
  

4. NetSuite Functional Support   

Candidates working on NetSuite may gain exposure to:

• Financial management and accounting.
  

• General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  

• Sales orders, purchase orders, invoices and billing.
  

• Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  

• Inventory and item management.
  

• Subsidiaries and inter company processes, where applicable.
  

• Saved searches, reports, forms, workflows and roles.
  

5. Odoo Functional Support   

Candidates working on Odoo may gain exposure to:

• Accounting and invoicing.
  

• Sales and CRM.
  

• Purchase and vendor management.
  

• Inventory and warehouse operations.
  

• Manufacturing and operations, where applicable.
  

• Project management and timesheets.
  

• User access, configuration and standard workflows.
  

6. Testing & Quality Assurance   

• Assist in preparing functional test scenarios and test cases.
  

• Perform basic functional testing of configurations and processes.
  

• Support system integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  

• Record defects, report issues and coordinate with the relevant team.
  

• Retest fixes and maintain testing documentation.
  

• Ensure completed tasks meet the approved requirements and acceptance criteria.
  

7. Customer & Project Coordination   

• Participate in customer calls and internal project meetings as required.
  

• Maintain professional communication with customers and team members.
  

• Track assigned tasks, timelines and dependencies.
  

• Provide regular updates on progress and blockers.
  

• Coordinate with functional consultants, developers and integration teams.
  

• Escalate issues or delays to the reporting manager promptly.
  

8. Training, Support & Continuous Learning   

• Assist with post-implementation support and basic troubleshooting.
  

• Research product functionality and document findings.
  

• Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
  

• Complete assigned learning plans and relevant product certifications.
  

• Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications   

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
  

• 0–1 year of experience; freshers are encouraged to apply.
  

• Basic understanding of business processes such as accounting, sales, purchasing or inventory.
  

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  

• Good documentation and organizational skills.
  

• Willingness to learn ERP applications and consulting methodologies.
  

• Ability to work collaboratively and manage assigned tasks responsibly.
  

• Comfortable participating in customer and internal meetings.

• Familiarity with GITHUB.
  

• Ability to work on multiple tasks as per requirement complexity.

• Proficient AI Tools knowledge for completing different tasks effectively is added advantage.
  

Good to Have   

• Basic exposure to NetSuite or Odoo through training, internships or academic projects.
  

• Understanding of accounting concepts, including debit/credit, invoices, payments and reconciliation.
  

• Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets.
  

• Basic understanding of business process flows.
  

• Exposure to CRM, inventory, procurement or finance applications.
  

• Basic knowledge of SQL, APIs or integrations.
  

• NetSuite SuiteFoundation or relevant Odoo training/certification.
