We are seeking an experienced FileMaker Pro Developer/Administrator with strong scripting capabilities in Python and AppleScript to design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in FileMaker Server administration , FileMaker integrations with third-party systems , and application support, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in Retail or Creative Marketing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain custom FileMaker Pro applications and databases to support business operations
Administer and maintain FileMaker Server , including performance monitoring, backups, security, and upgrades
Build and manage integrations between FileMaker and third-party systems (APIs, web services, ERP/CRM platforms, etc.)
Write and maintain automation scripts using Python and AppleScript to streamline workflows and system processes
Support, troubleshoot, and enhance business-critical FileMaker applications used across departments
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all FileMaker-based systems
Document technical designs, workflows, and system configurations
Provide ongoing maintenance, bug fixes, and performance optimization for existing applications
Participate in testing, deployment, and post-deployment support of new features/modules
Required Skills & Experience
Proven hands-on experience in FileMaker Pro development (custom app/database design and scripting)
Strong experience with FileMaker Server administration (installation, configuration, maintenance, security)
Demonstrated experience building FileMaker integrations with third-party systems
Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
Proficiency in AppleScript for macOS-based automation and system integration
Experience supporting and maintaining business-critical applications in a production environment
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred / Desirable Skills
Exposure to or experience working in Retail or Creative Marketing environments
Familiarity with API-based integrations (REST/SOAP)
Experience with macOS environments and Apple ecosystem tools
Understanding of database design principles and data security best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
