Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Electrical Engineer III to join the R&D team in Hyderabad, supporting electrical and embedded subsystems for KingFisher sample preparation and detection instruments. The role combines sustaining engineering, design optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support electrical circuits, PCBAs, and embedded systems including firmware interfaces and microcontrollers
• Own electrical and embedded subsystems through design, implementation, and verification phases
• Execute sustaining engineering activities including issue resolution, ECO implementation, and component obsolescence management
• Perform root cause analysis of field and production issues; implement corrective actions and design changes
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams on system integration, requirements definition, and design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of electrical or embedded engineering experience
• PCB design, circuit analysis, and embedded systems development expertise
• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and hands-on problem-solving skills
• Experience in cross-functional engineering team environments
• Embedded firmware development (C/C++, RTOS, communication protocols) preferred
• Life sciences or analytical instrumentation background preferred
