Electrical Engineer III will design and develop robotic and mechatronic subsystems for electron microscopy instruments, focusing on precision sample handling, automation, and motion control. The role involves integrating electromechanical systems across product platforms while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize robotic and mechatronic subsystems for electron microscopy platforms
Develop precision sample handling mechanisms, robotic transfer systems, end-effectors, and automation modules
Design precision motion mechanisms incorporating servo motors, linear actuators, encoders, and transmission components
Collaborate with Controls, Software, Systems, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering teams on subsystem integration
Lead Value Analysis/Value Engineering initiatives to reduce product cost while maintaining performance and quality
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline
8–12 years experience in robotics, mechatronics, precision motion systems, or electromechanical product development
Strong understanding of robotics, automation systems, motion control, servo systems, and mechanism design
Experience designing precision robotic assemblies, end-effectors, and automated handling systems
Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX) and PLM systems like Teamcenter
Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Assembly
Experience integrating mechanical systems with motors, encoders, sensors, and actuators
