Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (F&O) Functional Consultant to join our team. This role is suited to a professional with expertise in D365 F&O modules, strong business process knowledge, and the ability to lead complex implementations from requirements gathering through post-production support. You will work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Conduct fit-gap analyses and prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs).
• Configure, test, and support Dynamics 365 F&O Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Finance modules according to business specifications.
• Lead workshops, Collaborative Requirements Planning (CRP) sessions, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and user training.
• Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, customizations, reporting solutions, and data migration.
• Support cutover planning, go-live execution, hypercare, and post-production maintenance.
• Help ensure project timelines and quality standards are met, following industry best practices throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Document functional specifications, process flows, and configuration details for knowledge transfer and future reference.

Required SCM Functional Expertise

• Procurement and sourcing processes and configurations.
• Inventory management and optimization.
• Product Information Management (PIM).
• Warehouse management (advanced WMS), including:
  • Location directives
  • Work templates
  • Wave templates
  • Mobile device menu items
  • Inbound and outbound processes
• Sales and marketing order-to-cash processes.
• Inventory closing and costing processes.
• Warehouse setup and configuration.

Required Finance Functional Expertise

• General Ledger (GL) configuration and management.
• Accounts Payable (AP) processes and controls.
• Accounts Receivable (AR) operations.
• Fixed Assets (FA) management and depreciation.
• Cash and Bank Management.
• Budgeting and financial reporting.
• Month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Financial dimensions and account structures.
• Intercompany accounting.
• Tax configuration and compliance.

Preferred SCM Expertise

• Transportation Management (TMS).
• Master planning and demand forecasting.

Mandatory Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of D365 F&O business processes and configurations, with demonstrable experience implementing and supporting Finance and/or SCM modules.
• Data Management Framework (DMF) experience, including data migration, templates, and bulk operations.
• Working knowledge of Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and reporting solutions.
• Agile/Scrum experience and ability to participate in sprint planning and iterative development.
• Ability to independently engage with business stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Ability to create clear, comprehensive functional specifications and process documentation.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and/or Supply Chain Management certifications (MB-300, MB-310, MB-320, or equivalent).
• Experience with global implementations and multi-company or multi-entity environments.
• Exposure to Power BI for reporting and analytics.
• Experience with Power Automate for process automation.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for project tracking and collaboration.
• Experience in presales, solution estimation, and RFP (Request for Proposal) responses.
• Background in manufacturing, distribution, or retail.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.

Experience Level

At least 5 years of experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and/or Supply Chain Management implementations, including at least 3 years in a functional consultant or business analyst role.

Work Environment

• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Be flexible to support project timelines, which may include extended hours during critical phases such as go-live and UAT.
• Travel may be required for client visits, workshops, and go-live support.
