GE HealthCare seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and validate mechanical components and subsystems for medical devices. The role spans the full product lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and manufacturable solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, validate, and support mechanical components and assemblies for new products
Perform engineering analyses, tolerance stack-up calculations, and technical evaluations
Develop engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation
Plan and execute verification and validation activities to demonstrate performance and compliance
Support supplier development, qualification, and manufacturing readiness activities
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
Minimum 3 years mechanical design and new product introduction experience
Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering mechanics fundamentals
Experience designing components from concept through production and manufacturing
Hands-on prototype development, testing, and design verification experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective cross-functional collaboration ability
