We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases. The candidate will be responsible for database performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, troubleshooting, and ensuring database security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances.
  

• Perform database backup, restoration, and recovery operations.
  

• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot slow-running queries.
  

• Perform SQL query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
  

• Configure and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping.
  

• Manage database users, logins, roles, permissions, and security policies.
  

• Monitor database health, storage capacity, CPU, memory, and disk utilization.
  

• Perform database integrity checks using DBCC commands.
  

• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs, alerts, operators, and scheduled maintenance plans.
  

• Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, locking issues, and connectivity problems.
  

• Support database migrations, upgrades, patching, and version upgrades.
  

• Implement database maintenance activities, including index rebuilds, reorganizations, and statistics updates.
  

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and participate in DR drills.
  

• Work with development, infrastructure, and application support teams to resolve database-related issues.
  

• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident reports.
  

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
  

• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  

• Experience with SQL Server backup and recovery strategies.
  

• Knowledge of query execution plans, indexing, and performance tuning.
  

• Experience with SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, and replication.
  

• Knowledge of SQL Server Agent, maintenance plans, and job scheduling.
  

• Understanding of database security, access control, and auditing.
  

• Experience with Windows Server and basic networking concepts.
  

• Knowledge of database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  

• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting is an advantage.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  

• Relevant experience in SQL Server database administration.
  

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  

• Ability to work in production environments and participate in on-call support when required.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud databases such as Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
  

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure database services.
  

• Experience with database migration and automation.
  

• Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident management, and change management.
  

• Microsoft SQL Server or Azure database certifications.
