Words have the power to make people pause, feel something, and hit share. At HUFT, we’re looking for a Copywriting Intern who can bring the world of dogs, cats and pet parents to life through sharp, engaging and memorable copy.
You’ll be part of the team shaping how HUFT sounds and speaks —from social media and campaigns to product stories and everyday pet moments. If you’re someone who enjoys playing with words, spotting a good story and turning a simple thought into a great line, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Write captions, hooks, headlines, scripts and social media copy for dogs, cats and their humans.
Come up with fun, relatable and culturally relevant content ideas for Instagram and other platforms.
Help develop copy for campaigns, product launches, brand communication and digital content .
Find interesting stories in everyday pet-parent moments and turn them into compelling content.
Stay on top of memes, trends, pop culture and internet conversations and find smart ways to bring them into HUFT’s world.
Work closely with designers, social media and marketing teams to bring creative ideas to life.
Adapt your writing across different formats while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
Research pet behaviour, pet-parent conversations and trends to develop fresh content ideas.
Proofread and refine copy to ensure it is clear, engaging and grammatically sound.
Experiment with AI tools for ideation, research and content development while keeping the writing original and human.
What We’re Looking For:
Someone who loves writing and is naturally curious about words, stories and people.
Strong command of English and a good understanding of grammar.
Someone who understands social media, memes, trends and internet culture .
Ability to write in a conversational, witty and relatable tone.
A genuine love for dogs, cats and the wonderfully chaotic world of pet parenting .
Someone who can take a simple observation and turn it into an interesting idea.
Creative, proactive and comfortable experimenting with different writing styles.
Open to feedback and excited to learn.
Prior experience through college publications, personal blogs, social media pages, internships or creative projects is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
You’ll help make HUFT sound like the brand that gets what it’s actually like to live with a dog or cat —the zoomies, the judgmental stares, the stolen socks, the 5 AM wake-up calls and all the little moments that make pets family.
If you’ve ever written a caption for your pet, given your dog a better name than their actual name, or had a full conversation with a cat who clearly wasn’t listening—we should talk.
