Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Process Control Engineer to join the Facilities Process Engineering team. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, this role will be based in Chevron's office in Bengaluru.
The Process Control Engineer provides technical support, analysis, and documentation for process control systems in renewable diesel assets to help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role supports site Process Control Engineers, Operations, and Engineering teams through alarm management, controller performance monitoring, PID loop troubleshooting, control strategy reviews, Management of Change (MOC) support, and process control improvement recommendations.
Provide high-quality remote engineering support from the ENGINE office for site process control priorities. Help sustain safe and reliable operations by identifying control performance gaps, alarm issues, documentation needs, and improvement opportunities. Improve consistency, follow-up, and documentation quality across assigned process control work activities.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Controller performance monitoring: Support troubleshooting of loop performance issues, review process data, identify potential tuning or configuration concerns, and document practical improvement recommendations.
Review and validate control narratives, cause-and-effect logic, interlock interactions, operating envelopes, controller configurations, and process control documentation.
Support control logic changes, configuration updates, testing, validation, and implementation planning under the direction of the appropriate site owner or approval authority.
Prepare clear redlines, technical notes, marked-up control documents, review comments, action trackers, and handover summaries to support site execution and future sustainment.
Identify opportunities to improve alarm performance, controller utilization, control strategy robustness, process stability, operator effectiveness, and engineering work processes.

6 to 14 years of experience providing process control, control systems, or automation engineering support in renewable diesel, renewable fuels, petroleum refining, petrochemical, or other complex process manufacturing facilities.
- Hands-on experience with distributed control systems, safety systems, or PLC-based control platforms. Preferred platform experience includes Emerson DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
- Working knowledge of MOC, change control, testing, validation, commissioning support, and documentation requirements for control system changes.
- Ability to interpret process data, process trends, control narratives, operating procedures, P&IDs, cause-and-effect logic, interlocks, alarm documentation, and control system configuration information.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare concise, structured, and technically clear engineering deliverables.
- Ability to work with remote site teams across time zones while maintaining discipline around assumptions, decisions, risks, and follow-up actions.
Uses data, engineering judgement, and structured problem solving to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
Works collaboratively with Operations, site Process Control Engineers, Automation, Instrumentation, Engineering, and ENGINE team members.
Improves the quality and consistency of alarm management, controller performance, control documentation, and MOC support activities.
Builds trust with site stakeholders by being accurate, responsive, transparent, and disciplined with change control.
Balances practical plant support with strong process safety and Operational Excellence expectations.
