Primary title: Consultant Ophthalmologist
Healthcare — Clinical Ophthalmology and Eye Care Services within a tertiary/multispecialty hospital network in India. We deliver comprehensive outpatient, inpatient and surgical ophthalmic care using modern diagnostic imaging and operating theatre facilities. This on-site consultant role focuses on high-quality clinical outcomes, patient safety, and teaching/mentoring junior staff.
Role & Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient ophthalmic consultations, diagnoses and treatment plans across anterior and posterior segment disorders.
Perform elective and emergency ophthalmic surgeries—primarily phacoemulsification with IOL implantation—and manage perioperative care to ensure optimal visual outcomes.
Conduct laser procedures (e.g., Nd:YAG capsulotomy, SLT) and minor oculoplastic/eyelid procedures as required by the unit.
Interpret and act on diagnostic imaging including OCT, fundus photography and visual fields to guide management and referrals.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, follow infection control and surgical safety protocols, and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and quality-improvement initiatives.
Supervise and mentor junior clinicians, optometrists and support staff; contribute to continuing medical education and outreach screening programmes.

Qualifications
MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology or equivalent recognised qualification.
Registration with the Medical Council of India or relevant State Medical Council.
Consultant-level clinical experience in a hospital setting with proven surgical case log in cataract/phacoemulsification.
Valid BLS (Basic Life Support); ACLS preferred.
