About Inkle:

Inkle is a US tax & accounting software startup based in San Francisco and Bangalore. We exclusively serve US technology startups. We're on a mission to make accounting, tax and compliance easy, scalable, affordable and on-demand for US-registered companies - using software and human services. We are a team of passionate and creative individuals who believe in the power of technology to simplify complex processes. Inkle launched in 2022, and already serves well over 500 US companies, and we’re growing fast. We’re backed by leading global VC funds.

About the team and this role:

Our Compliance team keeps hundreds of US startups in good standing with the Federal, state, and local authorities. We handle annual reports, franchise tax, registered agent services, foreign qualifications, federal information returns and the many deadlines in between.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Associate (Intern) to help us prepare, track and file these compliances on time, every time. You will learn US corporate compliance from the ground up and own work that directly protects our customers from penalties, late fees and loss of good standing.

Responsibilities:

Complete training will be provided during your first 2 weeks.

Prepare and file state and federal compliances for our customers.
Support entity-related filings and changes across US states.
Track compliance deadlines and flag delays early.
Collect and verify customer documents before filing.
Maintain accurate customer records and filing confirmations.
Respond to customer queries on filings and notices.
Suggest improvements to make workflows faster and more accurate.

Who we’re looking for:

Students or fresh graduates in Commerce, Finance, Law, Business or a related field. No prior experience required.
Exceptional attention to detail: you double-check names, numbers, dates and addresses before anything goes out.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage many deadlines in parallel without letting any slip.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Ability to work with Slack, G Suite (Google Workspace) and CRM tools.
A high sense of ownership and reliability for repetitive but business-critical work.
Curiosity to learn US corporate compliance and willingness to work some overlap hours with US customers when needed.

Good to have:

Basic understanding of US entity types (C-Corp, LLC) or Delaware franchise tax.
Experience with any compliance, secretarial or filing work, even through internships or college projects.
Any graduate with the enthusiasm to learn and work.

Benefits that we’ll provide:

Highly competitive salary: Compensation benchmarked to local norms in Bangalore and San Francisco.
Stock options: All Inkle employees receive generous stock options with very favourable terms.
Health insurance: Coverage under our Group Medical Insurance policy.
Relocation allowance: A one-time allowance for moving costs when you join the Bangalore office.
Generous leave policy: Including 1 day of Period Leave per month for all female employees.
Work from home: 10 WFH days per year (pro-rated), on top of your leave.
Great office: A comfortable, fun and safe office in the heart of Bangalore, with great transport links and eateries nearby.
Equipment: A MacBook and external monitor as required.

Diversity Statement:

Inkle is committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture that promotes our belief in humanity excelling when we celebrate our differences. We are an equal opportunity provider and invite applicants from all backgrounds.
