Role Overview

We are looking for an analytical and proactive Business Research Executive to support market intelligence, customer research, lead generation, and business growth initiatives within the Industrial Automation and Motion Control domain .

The role involves identifying potential customers, researching market opportunities, analyzing competitors and industries, and converting research into actionable insights for sales and business development teams.

This is a business-focused research role that combines market intelligence, customer research, data analysis, lead generation, and sales support .

Key ResponsibilitiesMarket & Business Research

• Conduct detailed market and business research within the Industrial Automation and Manufacturing sectors.

• Identify potential OEMs, machine builders, manufacturers, and industrial customers .

• Research emerging automation applications, manufacturing investments, and growth opportunities.

• Analyze market trends, customer segments, industry developments, and competitive landscapes.

• Identify high-potential industries and organizations for business expansion.

Lead Generation & Customer Intelligence

• Build and maintain databases of prospective customers and target organizations.

• Research key decision-makers, influencers, and relevant business contacts.

• Develop structured customer profiles and opportunity maps.

• Identify and qualify potential business opportunities based on defined criteria.

• Support sales teams with relevant and actionable prospect information.

Sales & Business Development Support

• Generate qualified leads and provide market intelligence to sales teams.

• Support customer acquisition initiatives through data-driven research.

• Coordinate and facilitate introductory meetings between prospective customers and business development teams.

• Track identified opportunities and support pipeline development.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Prepare customer intelligence reports, market research reports, and opportunity assessments.

• Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential customer segments.

• Prepare dashboards and reports using Advanced Excel and Power BI .

• Maintain accurate and updated CRM/customer databases.

• Ensure data quality, completeness, and usability for business decision-making.

Industry & Competitive Intelligence

• Track developments in Industrial Automation, Motion Control, Drives, Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.

• Monitor competitor activities, market movements, new applications, and emerging technologies.

• Identify potential business opportunities arising from industry investments and technological developments.

Must-Have SkillsDomain Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in Industrial Automation – Mandatory.

• Experience in Market Research, Business Research, Competitive Analysis .

• Understanding of industrial customers, OEMs, machine builders, manufacturing, or automation ecosystem.

• Report generation and dashboard preparation

• CRM platforms

• LinkedIn Sales Navigator, digital research tools

• Working knowledge of AI-based research tools

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field .

• Engineering background in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or related disciplines is preferred.

• MBA in Marketing, Strategy, Business Analytics, or a related specialization – Required.

• Stability: Candidates with good career stability, preferably 2–3 years in recent organizations, are preferred.
