We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Representative (Inbound) to manage incoming leads and identify qualified sales opportunities for an enterprise technology business specializing in drone autonomy and Physical AI solutions.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective customers reaching out through website inquiries, industry events, partner referrals, and marketing campaigns. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate leads, understand customer requirements, conduct account research, and determine the most appropriate next steps—whether that involves transferring qualified opportunities to the sales team, nurturing prospects, or coordinating with regional partners.

This position is ideal for fresh graduates and early-career professionals who are interested in enterprise sales, business development, and technology-driven solutions. You will gain hands-on experience engaging with enterprise prospects across industries such as energy, mining, security, and critical infrastructure.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Inbound Lead Qualification and Segmentation

Evaluate incoming leads based on business fit, customer requirements, urgency, and purchase readiness.
Determine whether prospects should be referred to an Account Executive, added to a lead-nurturing workflow, or directed to a regional partner.
Ask relevant qualifying questions to understand customer needs, challenges, timelines, and potential business opportunities.
Prioritize high-potential leads and ensure timely follow-up.

2. Prospect Engagement and Communication

Respond to inbound inquiries within established service-level agreements (SLAs).
Develop personalized, research-backed responses instead of relying on generic outreach templates.
Communicate product capabilities and business value clearly to prospective customers.
Build professional relationships with enterprise stakeholders and maintain consistent engagement throughout the qualification process.

3. Account and Market Research

Research prospective companies to understand their business models, operational challenges, organizational structures, and strategic priorities.
Use AI-powered research tools to identify potential decision-makers, budget indicators, relevant business initiatives, and buying signals.
Gather insights that help determine account potential and improve the quality of sales conversations.
Develop a strong understanding of enterprise buyer requirements and the applications of drone autonomy and Physical AI technology.

4. Lead Nurturing and Follow-Up

Design and execute follow-up sequences for prospects who are interested but not yet ready to purchase.
Share relevant product information, case studies, and educational resources to maintain engagement.
Track prospect interactions and identify changes in interest, requirements, or purchase readiness.
Ensure no qualified opportunity is overlooked due to inconsistent follow-up.

5. Partner Coordination and Sales Handoffs

Identify prospects who would be better served by regional channel partners and coordinate appropriate handoffs.
Transfer qualified opportunities to Account Executives with structured information covering customer needs, decision-makers, timelines, budget indicators, and decision-making processes.
Collaborate with sales teams to ensure smooth transitions from initial inquiry to active sales engagement.
Remain accountable for leads until they are appropriately qualified, nurtured, or routed.

6. CRM Management and Reporting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lead details, communications, qualification status, and next steps in the CRM.
Track lead response times, qualification outcomes, follow-up activities, and conversion trends.
Ensure consistent documentation and adherence to lead-management processes.
Share recurring customer questions, objections, and feedback with marketing and product teams to improve messaging and lead quality.

Must-Have Skills

Inside Sales: Understanding of lead qualification, prospect engagement, follow-up, and sales pipeline management.
Customer-Facing Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional conduct, and the ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders.
Research: Ability to conduct account research, identify relevant business information, and use insights to personalize prospect interactions.

Good-to-Have Skills

Leadership: Experience leading college teams, student organizations, events, or group projects.
Initiative: Demonstrated ability to take ownership, solve problems independently, and drive projects from start to finish.
Achievement Orientation: Evidence of strong performance through competitions, academic projects, internships, extracurricular activities, or other accomplishments.
Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales prospecting tools.
Experience using AI tools for research, writing, personalization, and workflow automation.
Interest in enterprise technology, robotics, drones, automation, or B2B software solutions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

0–2 years of experience in inside sales, business development, customer-facing roles, market research, or a related field.
Fresh graduates with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are encouraged to apply.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to hold professional conversations with senior enterprise stakeholders.
Strong business acumen and the ability to ask relevant questions to understand customer needs and buying intent.
Comfort using AI tools as part of everyday research, communication, and productivity workflows.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and discipline in maintaining records and completing follow-ups.
A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve performance.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is proactive, curious, organized, and committed to delivering quality interactions rather than maximizing outreach volume. You should be comfortable researching unfamiliar industries, learning technical product concepts, and translating customer inquiries into actionable sales opportunities.

You take ownership of every lead, use AI to improve research and personalization without compromising judgment, and understand that successful business development requires more than passing contacts to the sales team. You are motivated to build a long-term career in enterprise sales and business development.

Work Environment and Benefits

High-ownership role with opportunities to contribute directly to enterprise sales growth.
Exposure to global customers, enterprise buying processes, and emerging Physical AI technologies.
Opportunities for international travel, industry events, and customer-facing engagements, based on business requirements.
Access to AI tools, professional courses, and resources to support continuous learning.
Modern technology stack and tools that enable efficient research and workflow automation.
Flexible working hours and an unlimited leave policy.
Collaborative, in-person work environment at the Pune office.

Key Success Metrics

Timely response to inbound inquiries within defined SLAs.
Quality and accuracy of lead qualification and segmentation.
Conversion of inbound leads into sales-qualified opportunities.
Effectiveness of lead-nurturing and follow-up activities.
Accuracy of CRM records and completeness of sales handoffs.
Quality of account research and personalized prospect communication.
