Function: Business Development — Outbound / Pre-Sales

Location: Pune (preferred)

Reporting To: BD Manager / BD Head

Experience: 2 to 6 years

Employment Type: Full-time

Candidates with no exp of outbound B2B sales, cold calling, or lead generation experience are requested not to apply. Profiles from research, consulting, KPO, SaaS, or professional services with active outbound experience are strongly preferred.

Role Objective:

To drive proactive outbound business development for Quesrow - a boutique metals, materials, and industrial strategy research firm. The role involves identifying and prioritising target accounts, initiating cold calls and multi-channel outreach to CXO and senior decision-makers, qualifying commercial opportunities, and creating a consistent, high-quality meeting pipeline for Partners and Senior Consultants. This is a high-activity, target-driven role that sits at the front of Quesrow's commercial engine.

About Quesrow: Quesrow Research & Strategy Co. is a specialist research and advisory firm focused on metals, materials, energy transition, and industrial sectors. We serve private equity funds, global producers, industrial conglomerates, and government bodies across India and internationally. Our mandates range from investment research and market entry strategy to feasibility studies and competitive benchmarking. This is a senior client environment : the people you will be calling are CFOs, Strategy Heads, and Investment Directors. The role demands polish, commercial intelligence, and a strong outbound instinct.

Key Responsibilities:

Outbound Prospecting & Pipeline Generation

→ Build and maintain a structured database of target accounts and prospects across Quesrow's sector focus — metals, materials, industrials, energy transition, critical minerals.

→ Conduct high-volume, targeted cold calling to CXO and senior decision-makers — Strategy, Corporate Finance, Market Intelligence, and Investment functions.

→ Execute outbound outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels in a coordinated, sequenced approach.

→ Research accounts and personalise outreach based on company context, industry triggers, and relevant business needs — not generic templated messages.

Meeting Generation & Qualification

→ Identify and qualify commercial opportunities and engage the right decision-makers.

→ Generate and schedule qualified meetings for Partners and Senior Consultants — meetings that have a clear context, an appropriate attendee, and a defined agenda.

→ Own the full outreach-to-meeting conversion funnel — from first touchpoint to confirmed calendar slot.

Follow-up, Nurture & CRM Discipline

→ Own follow-ups, re-engagement, and nurture campaigns for unresponsive or inactive prospects — persistence is as important as first contact.

→ Maintain accurate, complete CRM records with full visibility of outreach history, conversations, responses, status, and next steps. No orphaned contacts.

→ Track and report daily and weekly outreach activity, connect rates, conversations, meetings scheduled, and show-up rates.

Coordination & Pre-Meeting Support

→ Coordinate with Partners and BD Managers to ensure clean, well-briefed handover of qualified opportunities.

→ Support pre-meeting research and post-meeting follow-ups to maintain continuity and momentum in the pipeline.

→ Continuously experiment with outreach messaging, calling approaches, and prospecting sequences to improve conversion rates.

Candidate Profile

→ Experience: 3 to 6 years of demonstrated experience in outbound B2B sales, cold calling, inside sales, lead generation, or appointment setting — not just inbound or account management.

→ Track record: Proven track record of cold calling and outbound prospecting to senior business stakeholders — Directors, VPs, CXOs.

→ Sector: Experience in consulting, research, analytics, KPO, SaaS, or professional services is strongly preferred. Candidates who have sold to corporates, PE funds, or industrial companies are at an advantage.

→ Sales background: Strong inside sales or tele-sales background with measurable meeting generation outcomes — not just activity metrics.

→ Location: Pune based. Candidates currently outside these cities are not being considered for this role.

Mindset We Are Looking For

This role is not for everyone. It requires a specific kind of person.

→ Hunter mindset. You actively look for the next target, the next conversation, the next meeting. You don't wait for leads to come to you.

→ Comfortable with rejection. Cold calling means hearing no - repeatedly. You treat it as data, not defeat.

→ Commercially curious. You can explain to a prospect why they should give you 30 minutes — in terms that matter to them, not to us.

→ Disciplined. High-volume outbound only works when it is consistent. You maintain the cadence on days when it's not working.

→ Adaptable. You test messaging, adjust approaches, and iterate based on what's converting. You don't run the same script for six months.
