Associate Engineering Director in Nānakrāmguda, भारत

Medtronic seeks an Associate Engineering Director to lead a multi-team software organization of 40+ engineers developing medical device applications. The role requires a second-line leader to shape technical strategy, manage multiple engineering managers, and partner with cross-functional R&D teams on multi-year product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-team software organization spanning product areas across web, mobile, desktop, and cloud platforms
• Manage, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and senior technical leads; build succession planning and leadership pipeline
• Own end-to-end delivery including capacity planning, prioritization, dependency management, and executive reporting
• Set technical direction and architectural standards in partnership with Principal Engineers and Architects
• Partner with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to align on design controls and submission readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 18+ years of software product development experience in global team environments
• 8+ years of people-management experience, including 2+ years leading multiple teams simultaneously
• Deep expertise in full-stack enterprise application development (desktop, mobile, cloud) and V&V strategy
• Demonstrated technical depth with ability to set strategy and engage substantively in architecture decisions
• Track record of developing engineers with measurable outcomes in retention, promotion, and capability growth
• Experience leading programs in matrix structures and influencing peers without direct authority
